Filtering Key Information across Welsh Football

There are many ways to continue to develop our Coaches across Wales and Welsh Football and over the previous months and up-coming seasons ahead, Mentoring has and will play a key role in developing our next generation of coaches. "More Coaches, Better Coaches"

Our mentors develop our coaches through several forms, Key to all this is the Strong relationships which are built across a period of time, once a strong foundation is developed, we can focus our information and time on coach centred workshops and importantly utilise the following methods;

  • Selective questioning
  • Active listening
  • Setting challenging yet achievable goals
  • Observation
  • Providing feedback
  • Motivating
  • Developing potential – helping towards mid- and long-term goals
  • Preparing the mentee for future roles or performance
  • Developing a longer-term relationship
  • Basing their mentoring on learning, experience, and inspiration

  • An agreed Action Plan for the next period
  • Updating the coach’s Personal Development Plan
